All Willys military vehicles came equipped with blackout lights to include a front blackout driving light, front blackout marker lights and rear blackout stop and taillights.
The blackout driving light mounted on the left front fender is a hooded light having a sealed beam unit that throws a horizontal diffused low-intensity light beam to illuminate any vertical object. This light is used when the tactical situation does not permit use of service headlights.
The blackout marker lights are mounted in either side of the radiator grille below the headlights. They show a diffused, low intensity beam when on.
The taillights incorporate blackout tail lamps in the lower portion of each taillight and a blackout stop lamp in the upper portion of the right hand unit.
